Pornography is in every society. If you look back to ancient civilizations even they had pornographic paintings on the walls. The roll that it takes, or should take, in American society is a understated back seat. No one wants their young children to be exposed to or even understand what pornography is. It should be something that singles and couples enjoy in the privacy of their own home or a secluded setting. Many people benefit from pornography such as, the people making and selling it and the people viewing it for the occasional enjoyment. Young people and those who are or become addicted to it are harmed. If someone is addicted they generally spend large amounts of time and money.
If you go back to what Klosterman wrote, we all benefit from pornography if we use the internet, since the internet is largely indebted to pornography for its development. That means you're potentially benefiting from porn just by doing this assignment.
